Sept. 3, 2014

Sept. 3, 2014—Caliber Collision wrapped a busy summer by recently donating its 10th vehicle through the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program.

Caliber teamed with insurance partners, parts suppliers and local businesses to provide transportation for active-duty servicemen and women, military veterans, and financially challenged families.

All 10 gifted vehicles were delivered between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

“We are very proud of all our associates who have gone above and beyond their daily responsibilities to help make a difference in the lives of these families,” said Steve Grimshaw, CEO of Caliber Collision. “Caliber’s purpose is to restore the rhythm of our customer’s lives, and we appreciate the opportunity to team up with our industry colleagues to help restore a sense of hope and freedom for families through the Caliber Recycled Rides program.”

Those receiving the vehicles include:

  • Four vehicles provided by Farmers Insurance were donated to veterans in Dallas and Austin, Texas, as part of the Carry the Load Memorial Day March.
  • A Honda Odyssey from Nationwide Insurance will help a veteran in Sacramento, Calif., working to rebuild his life after homelessness.
  • Three vehicles from GEICO were gifted to struggling families in Tucson, Ariz., and Phoenix.
  • A Toyota Corolla from Esurance will help a young military family in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., with transportation for an infant daughter on daily kidney dialysis.
  • A Honda Odyssey van from Allstate Insurance will help transport low-income high school students in Tucson who are participating in a unique work-study program to help pay for their education.

According to a Caliber release, the company’s continued growth has led to increased opportunities for more Recycled Rides. Caliber plans to gift more than 20 vehicles in 2014.
