Oct. 2, 2014

Oct. 2, 2014—Canada-based multi-shop operation Craftsman Collision recently announced that it has reached an agreement to purchase Wedge Clamp Systems Inc. a manufacturer of a lightweight auto body repair system.

Wedge Clamp is also a lead distributor of the NitroHeat painting system.

“Nothing on the market compares to [Wedge Clamp] for speed, accuracy and ease of operation,” said Bill Hatswell, Craftsman founder and now the new owner and president of Wedge Clamp. “We’ve been exclusive users of the Wedge Clamp System since it was introduced.”

With 36 locations, Craftsman Collision is the largest privately held body shop chain in North America.

Wedge Clamp will retain its office in Suzhou, China, while an office and showroom in Los Angeles is in the works for 2015.
