July 11, 2011 — The Collision Industry Foundation (CIF) recently donated $5,000 to Feeding America through the Crash Hunger program.
The donation includes $2,000 FinishMaster raised during a dollar drive last year. The funds will be used to fight hunger on behalf of the collision repair industry, according to the CIF. Its Crash Hunger program is open to shops, vendors and others willing to get their customers to help support the campaign. Customers make contributions through the “purchase” of $1 sheets on a donation pad.
“Feeding America is a vital connection between the collision repair industry and Food Banks all over the country," said Jeanne Silver, of CARSTAR in Mundelein, Ill. “Industry members can volunteer at their local food banks or organize a fund raising initiative through the CIF Crash Hunger dollar donation pad sales. No one should be hungry in America, and everyone can help end hunger with as little as a dollar.”
Each 50-sheet donation pad costs $50. Businesses are encouraged to have a pad at each location and are asked to display each purchased sheet on the wall to encourage participation. For more information or to order pads, call the CIF office at 804.427.6982.
