Nov. 16, 2015—BASF awarded its first-ever Glasurit paint award to a 1966 Ford Bronco. The Bronco, owned by Richard Gochanour and painted by Adam Krause at The Refinery by Adam Krause, was painted with Glasurit 90 Line Refinery Green and Refinery Brown.
The award was presented by Chip Foose at the 2015 SEMA Show. Foose selected the vehicle out of a field of 19 entries.
“Broncos are notorious for door panels and fenders that don’t line up. This one had panels that were laser straight and the body prep was amazing,” said Foose. “The color was subtle and classy and the finish was glossy, consistent and beyond compare.”
Notable finalists included a 1971 Plymouth Cuda owned by Roger Byrd and painted by Troy Trepanier at Rad Rides by Troy, and a 1969 Ford Mustang owned by Tim Spencer and painted by Jonathan Goolsby at Goolsby Customs
The Glasurit Best Paint Award was created to honor outstanding excellence in vehicle painting using Glasurit 22, 55 or 90 Line products including primer, color and clear. Judging was based on fit, finish and quality of preparation and final presentation.
