Nov. 10, 2014—Axalta Coating Systems, a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, announced Thursday the arrival of the Acquire Plus EFX, a high technology based hand-held spectrophotometer that measures color with precision, to the Chinese market.
The Acquire Plus EFX is already in use by some body shops across the world.
The Acquire Plus EFX is a third-generation, German-engineered spectrophotometer specifically designed for waterborne refinish systems to improve the accuracy of the color match. The technological in the tool can measure the sparkle of flakes in coating in addition to the respective light or darkness and color of the paint.
“This premium and easy to use instrument delivers accurate color matches, even for complicated metallic, pearl and effect colors,” Jay Kaiser, product and technology director of Axalta Coating Systems, Asia Pacific, said in a release. “With the growing capabilities of body shops in China, and their need for advanced tools to enhance productivity, Axalta believes that the time is right to introduce the Acquire Plus EFX to this market.”
The Acquire Plus EFX has been designed with body shop customers in mind, according to an Axalta release, and is aimed to aid those in the collision repair industry who need colors that are ready to spray quickly.
