May 23, 2016—Erie-LaSalle Body Shops will become the first U.S. collision shop to implement the Symach FixLine collision repair system when it opens its third Chicago location, Symach announced on Monday.
The River West neighborhood facility will implement the complete Symach European repair process, which integrates precise scheduling, repair planning, and state-of-the-art repair and refinish procedures, enhanced by gas catalytic robotic drying.
The 12,000-square-foot shop is expected to produce around 65 vehicles per week, fully automated with the Symach FixLine system with a conveyor-type production process and five robots. The robots drastically reduce drying times of all substances.
A “FixStation” will be dedicated to smaller jobs, that Symach says will allow repairs normally completed three or four days to be finished in one day.
“We have always prided ourselves in being a leader in the latest technology in our industry,” Erie-LaSalle owner Bob Gottfred said. “When we decided to open another repair facility we wanted to offer our clients and insurance repair partners something better-something no one else had offered providing the very finest in service, speed and accuracy. We feel both our internal and external customers deserve the very best. We have dedicated ourselves to invest more to give more.”
