May 24, 2016—The Collision Repair Education Foundation announced Tuesday the recipients of scholarships for students in the collision repair industry, as well as the schedule for its annual Fall Collision Career Fairs.
Recipients of the $2,000 Lon Baudoux Legacy Scholarship are:
- Tyler Haas, Chippewa Valley Technical College, Eau Claire, Wis.
- Destiny Potter, Central Nine Career Center, Greenwood, Ind.
- Miles Smith, McKenzie Center for Technology and Innovation, Indianapolis
- Skyler Manley, Lake Technical College, Eustis, Fla.
Collision Repair Education Foundation Board of Trustees Scholarship Grant recipients are:
- $2,000: Joni Cleary, Dennis Technical Education Center, Boise, Idaho
- $1,000: Angel Santiago, Texas Southmost College, Brownsville, Texas
- $1,000: Jacob Sterner, Genesee Valley Educational Partnership, Mt. Morris, N.Y.
- $1,000: Ricki Wood, Kansas City Kansas Community College, Kansas City, Kan.
Collision Repair Education Foundation Grant recipients are:
- $1,000 scholarship: Matthew Dya, Morgan Community College, Fort Morgan, Colo.
- $1,000 tool grant: Bryan Hernandez, Metropolitan Community College, Omaha, Neb.
I-CAR Board of Directors $500 Tool Grant Recipient:

2016 Craftsman Tool Grant winners, receiving a 263-piece tool set, include:

After successful spring career fairs in 10 cities averaging more than 200 students attending each fair, the Education Foundation has announced six career fairs for the fall semester.
- Chicago – Friday, Sept. 16 – Chicagoland Speedway – NASCAR Sprint Cup Weekend (Joliet, Ill.)
- St. Louis – Friday, Sept. 23 – Gateway Motorsports Park (Madison, Ill.)
- Boston – Wednesday, Oct. 5 - Assabet Technical College (Marlboro, Mass.)
- Atlanta. – Thursday, Oct. 20 – Maxwell High School of Technology (Lawrenceville, Ga.)
- Columbus, Ohio – Nov. 16 – Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center (Columbus, Ohio)
- Minneapolis – Date & location TBD
“We look forward to bringing these career fairs to additional markets in the fall and introducing these students to the local industry who are interested in their future. For many of these events we are working close with local industry associations and I-CAR volunteer committees to help communicate to the local industry contacts,” Collision Repair Education Foundation director of development Brandon Eckenrode said.
