May 6, 2015—The National Auto Body Council (NABC) showcased its Recycled Rides program at collision industry events across the country this April, helping the program donate more than 100 vehicles to date in 2015, the NABC announced on Tuesday.
The Recycled Rides program provides reliable transportation for people struggling to rebuild their lives. Vehicles are donated, which are then repaired by volunteers in collision repair shops. Manufacturers and suppliers do their part by donating parts and materials.
NABC Recycled Rides events were held at the Collision Industry Conference in early April in Atlanta, as well as the PPG Automotive Refinish Spring MVP Conference in Palm Desert, Calif., among others.
A total of 104 vehicles have been given away, or are currently in the process of giving away, so far this year.
“We have already hit the 50 [percent] mark of last year’s total Recycled Rides and thanks to our members, are well on the way to surpass the number of vehicles donated last year,” said Rick Turri of AudoExplore, who serves as the chair of the Recycled Rides program.
