May 13, 2015—Ford is set to recall 12,300 2015 F-150 pickups in North America to check for a problem that may affect steering, according to a report from the Detroit Free Press.
The issue is reportedly with the upper I-shaft, which may have been riveted improperly. This could cause the upper l-shaft to separate, making it harder to steer and increase the risk of a crash.
Affected vehicles were built at the Dearborn Truck and Kansas City assembly plants. Only 5,600 of these vehicles have been shipped to customers, the rest have not been sold. The automaker said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries because of the problem.
