May 11, 2015—Dan Deery Toyota in Cedar Falls, Iowa, presented Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa, with a $24,000 donation in the form of automotive parts for the college’s automotive technology and collision repair and refinishing programs.
The automotive technology program prepares students for various careers in automotive repair by providing hands-on experience in testing and diagnosing, engine drivability diagnosis, automatic transmissions, gas engines, suspension, alignment, brakes and basic electricity. Items donated include sheet metal panels, AC units, belts and electrical and mechanical parts.
Students will be able to use the parts in classes and on individual class projects.
“Through donations such as this, the business community continues to play an important role in helping the college build a strong workforce. We value our partnership with Dan Deery Toyota and we appreciate their support of our College,” said Linda Allen, president of Hawkeye Community College.
