May 7, 2014—Fix Auto announced this week that its 12th annual National Conference will be held Sept. 21–24 at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad, Calif., just a short drive from the Fix Auto San Diego headquarters.
The company will present a comprehensive program following a theme of “In Pursuit of a Higher Purpose,” centered on a company-wide initiative to give to “worthy causes within our industry as well as outside of the organization,” according to a Fix Auto statement.
The event will provide educational sessions as well as opportunities to network with other shop operators and industry professionals. Attendees will also spend time on the tarmac at the Miramar Marine Air Base.
“We realize the value of Fix Auto is fueled, in large part, by the essence of our community coming together for the free and open exchange of information,” said Fix Auto president and COO Paul Gange. “We also acknowledge that we all do much more than simply repair vehicles and settle claims, so it seemed appropriate that we come together to celebrate not only as business professionals, but as important members of our own communities. Our conference will endeavor to find the right balance between business activity and recognition of those things that give our lives purpose, while blending in a healthy dose of extracurricular fun.”
Ray Zahab will serve as the keynote speaker. Zahab is an extreme athlete whose considerable feats include running across the Sahara Desert and the length of frozen Lake Baikal in Siberia (unsupported, in winter). He is the founder of impossible2Possible (i2P), an organization that aims to inspire and educate youth through adventure learning, inclusion and participation in expeditions—100 percent free of cost.
