Caliber Honors Four Veterans Over Memorial Day Weekend

May 28, 2014

May 28, 2014—Four Dallas-area veterans received vehicles from Caliber Collision’s Recycled Rides program over Memorial Day weekend.

Now in its third year, Caliber Collision’s Recycled Rides is part of a nationwide program by the National Auto Body Council in which insurance companies partner with collision repair facilities to repair and donate vehicles to individuals in need. It has donated more than 30 vehicles through the program and plans to add 20 more in 2014.

The recipients, who had struggled financially since returning to civilian life, were nominated by Allies in Service and Attitudes & Attire, two Dallas and Ft. Worth, Texas, veteran support organizations. They received the vehicles at the annual Carry The Load Memorial Marches, held in Dallas and Burnet, Texas.

The four veterans who received vehicles are:

  • Eric McNary, an ex-Army financial management technician; received a 2009 Toyota Camry.
  • Diana Cuesta, a former Air Force Sergeant; received a 2010 Kia Forte.
  • Freddie Nash, a former U.S. Navy Seaman; received a 2008 Lincoln MKZ.
  • Daniel Escamilla, a former Air Force traffic controller; received a 2001 Infiniti OX4.

Farmers Insurance provided the vehicles while Caliber Collision refurbished them with volunteer employee labor. In addition to repairing the vehicles, Caliber collision employees raised more than $25,000 to support Carry The Load Programs in 2014.
