May 28, 2014—The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announced Tuesday its support for the Servicemembers Insurance Relief Act, a bill that would simplify auto insurance for relocating military members.
The bill, H.R. 4669, proposed by U.S. Rep. Edward Royce of California would abolish the auto insurance change requirement for those servicemembers who need to relocate.
“Rep. Royce’s legislation will not only provide much-needed relief for military families, but takes an important step in the modernization of the insurance industry,” said Darrell Amberson, ASA chairman. “The Automotive Service Association supports H.R. 4669.”
