March 11, 2016—Valspar Automotive announced Friday that Vescio’s Customizing and Restorations in Rogers, Minn., has won the “Outstanding Paint” award at Autorama Detroit 2016 with its 1947 Ford pickup truck, finished exclusively with Valspar Refinish products.
The truck was in a state of disrepair when the owner partnered with Vescio’s to refurbish the vehicle. The project took two years to complete.
“Originally, we were just going to fix it up and make it useful, but as we started digging in, we decided to make it a show car,” owner and operator Bo Vescio said. “We had a couple ideas, and saw some that had been done with finished boxes and realized that was the way to go.”
The truck has a rebuilt rear frame, new steel box, nickel plating and chrome work. The truck has a factory Ford Cinnamon 2010 series color, painted with Valspar Refinish 999 Basecoat and finished with Valspar AC4400 HS Clearcoat. The interior was done by Dan Weber and Weber’s Custom interiors.
“We’ve been using Valspar Refinish for the past five years,” Vescio said. “We have used many other products, but nothing compares to the cost point and quality from Valspar. We’re comfortable using this product on our customer’s vehicles and they love it.”
