March 14, 2016—The International Motor Press Association (IMPA) will hold a panel in an effort to forecast the future of diesel passenger vehicles in the U.S. on Tuesday in New York City.
The panel will take into account the drop in fuel prices for both diesel and gasoline, the Volkswagen situation, and the use of sales and registration data to provide the most current projections for the future of diesel vehicles. The panel will also discuss government regulations that could help or hinder the U.S. diesel market and what automakers will do to meet upcoming fuel economy standards.
Panel participants include Allen Schaeffer, executive director, Diesel Technology Forum; Alan Baum, principal, Baum and Associates; and moderator Bill Howard, vice president, International Motor Press Association.
