Rich Altieri to Provide Training on Leading Change, Cycle Time Reduction

March 31, 2015

ST. PAUL, MINN., March 31, 2015—Making changes in a collision repair shop—big or small, operational or philosophical—can be a challenge. A common figure across all businesses is that roughly 70 percent of all change initiatives fail—but they don’t have to. Rich Altieri, president of Autobody Management Solutions, will break down the predictable and avoidable reasons for change failure at the FenderBender Management Conference in May. He will also lead a session dedicated to helping shops cut cycle time through better repair planning.

Altieri brings more than 40 years of collision repair experience to the conference, having worked both in his family’s shop and as a trainer and coach at facilities throughout the country. His session, “Leading Change,” will close the FenderBender Management Conference, arming attendees with the inspiration and strategies needed to turn what they’ve learned into action.

“It’s no secret that the collision repair industry is evolving rapidly on several fronts, from vehicle composition and repair techniques to customer expectations to the overall makeup of the market. It’s an increasingly competitive climate and shops that want to succeed will need to be drivers of change,” said FenderBender editor Jake Weyer. “Altieri has been on the front lines of industry change throughout his career—within his family’s shop; as a pioneer of electronic management systems; as a trainer with PPG Refinish and as an independent business coach.”

In addition to the “Leading Change,” session, Altieri will run “Slash Cycle Time through Flawless Repair Planning.” This session will help shops deliver the best cycle time, length of rental and value-added touch-time performance.

The FenderBender Management Conference, scheduled from May 18–20 in Philadelphia, will include educational sessions, engaging workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, all aimed at helping shop owners and managers make money, save money and work smarter.
