June 5, 2015—DCR systems has been granted a patent for the design of a paint spray booth system that enables collision repair operations within the company’s nationwide network to increase the volume of painted automotive components moving through the repair process.
The patented system, developed by DCR Intellectual Property Company LLC, was designed to maximize the utilization of space within an extended paint booth. It is combined with an offset rail system which allows multitasking within the paint process as operators can work on several painted pieces at the same time without concern of cross contamination or other factors that disrupt the painting process.
“Conventional paint booths are typically limited to just one car or a total of its components. Our re-designed refinish system alters the size and configuration of the production zone, streamlines the paint process, and significantly increases the capacity of a single cabin paint booth," said Michael Giarrizzo, Jr., president and CEO of DCR Systems and developer of the paint booth patent.
The company’s current turnkey accident repair centers have been retrofitted for the new paint booth design, according to Giarrizzo. At this time, DCR Systems operates in centers in Ohio, New York, North Carolina, and Massachusetts.
