CAPA names ninth member to board of directors

April 18, 2012

April 18, 2012—The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) has elected Bill DeGrocco of GEICO Insurance to join its board of directors, the organization announced Wednesday.

DeGrocco, who has worked for GEICO since 1974, currently serves as assistant vice president of auto damage. He is responsible for overseeing GEICO’s auto damage policy, training, audit and appraisals nationwide, according to CAPA. DeGrocco has also held other various positions within GEICO’s auto damage technical field.

CAPA said GEICO was one of the organization’s original founders 25 years ago, and has been a long-standing supporter of the need to identify high-quality alternative replacement parts in the collision repair market.

“Bill brings an extraordinary amount of hands-on knowledge as well as management expertise to CAPA’s board. We are excited to have Bill join CAPA’s efforts as we enter our second quarter century of protecting both the market and consumers from poor quality parts,” said Jack Gillis, executive director of CAPA.

CAPA’s full board now includes the following nine members:

• Bill Brower of Liberty Mutual Insurance
• Bill Daly of Allstate Insurance
• Bill DeGrocco of GEICO
• Jack Gillis of CAPA
• John Palumbo of PartsChannel Inc.
• Clark Plucinski of Boyd Group
• Ed Salamy of K.S.I. Trading Corp.
• Ben Steinman of Ben's Auto Body
• Carol Waldron of State Farm Mutual Insurance
