Survey Shows Opportunities for Technology in Collision Repair

June 6, 2014

June 6, 2014—Summit eMarketing Sherpas released on Friday its Collision Industry Report, outlining top challenges for shops in North America.

The four-question survey was distributed in April to more than 5,000 shops, 306 of which responded.

Summit reported the key takeaway was an opportunity for technology in the industry. Specifically, the results showed that most shops needed help with sales and marketing and are hesitant to embrace technology as a tool to improve those results.

In addition, many respondents felt insurance companies are a major challenge in terms of work direction and consumer interference and sometimes miss the opportunity to “own the customer” after the initial transaction.

"The results tell us that that there is tremendous upside for shops to improve their sales, marketing and customer retention results with affordable investments in new processes, training and technology,” said Frank Terlep, CEO and lead sherpa for Summit eMarketing Sherpas.
