June 13, 2014—CARSTAR has had a charitable week. A CARSTAR business group announced its annual charitable golf tournament, while a separate franchisee helped families in need.

The Puget Sound CARSTAR Business Group in Washington announced Wednesday it would hold its ninth annual CARSTAR Golf Tournament at the New Castle Golf Club on July 24.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Make-A-Wish foundation of Washington.

Early registration is now open until July 1 at a cost of $160 per player. On-site registration is also available the day of the event for $20 more per player. The cost includes dinner and a drink ticket.

Also, West Valley CARSTAR in Utah announced Wednesday that it teamed up with Bear River Mutual Insurance Company to provide a refurbished car to a family in need. The car was presented to Jeff and Lisa Jones on June 4.

The family, who is trying to adopt a 17-year-old girl who was having struggles with her own home life, received a 2009 Buick Lucerne replacing their 1990 Crown Victoria.

West Valley CARSTAR, owned by Linda Ellison and her sons, Bryan and Lynn, also repaired a car at no cost to another family who had adopted three children in 2013.
