Service King Restores Vehicle for Veteran

July 1, 2016

July 1, 2016—Service King Collision Repair Centers announced Thursday that it has partnered with GEICO, Enterprise Rent-a-Car and the National Auto Body Council to present a refurbished 2013 Scion xB to Robert Olivarez, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran wounded in combat in 2004.

“Service King and our teammates from across the area are humbled by the opportunity to give back to Mr. Olivarez,” Jeff McFadden, Service King president, said. “As a decorated U.S. Marine Veteran, he and his family have together given back so much to the local community and our country as a whole. It’s our hope that this small token of our deepest appreciation may bring joy and a greater opportunity to pursue his dreams.”

The giveaway took place in Renton, Wash., and was a  part of the NABC Recycled Rides Program.

Olivarez deployed to Iraq in 2003 as a gun team leader. His team was tasked to protect explosive ordnance disposal units. He completed his tour after being wounded in combat in 2004.

Olivarez currently serves as the junior vice commander for the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 12 in Seattle. The reliable transportation provided by the xB will help Olivarez pursue a communications degree from Skagit Valley College.
