PPG supports SCRS Repairer Driven Education

Aug. 8, 2011

Aug. 8, 2011 – For the second year in a row, PPG Automotive Refinish continues its involvement with the Repairer Driven Education (RDE) series during the SEMA show in Las Vegas, hosted by the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS).

PPG will contribute course content to the program, “Load Leveling – The hidden enabler for shop performance,” led by Jim Berkey and Mark Mueller. PPG is the first company to support the program at the prestigious Doctorate Level.

“All of us at PPG are excited about helping promote education to the collision repair community with SCRS this fall,” Said John Parran, director of marketing for PPG Automotive Refinish. “Education is a key part of the value-added services we deliver to our customer base, and it is an honor to be a part of the growing and unique opportunity SCRS has put together with RDE. Last year we saw great value for the industry from our involvement, and it was an easy decision to continue our support in 2011.”

PPG will also co-host the Afterburner evening reception along with SCRS at the Las Vegas Hilton Sky Villas, following the headline presentation on Nov. 3. This evening function will deliver an opportunity to take in some of the most spectacular sights of the city while networking with other shop owners and industry representatives from around the country.

“Education and networking are easily two of the priorities for shops attending industry events such as this,” said Domenic Brusco, senior manager of industry relations for PPG Automotive Refinish. “We believe that SCRS as an organization is really connecting with the collision repair community in its ongoing efforts, and the events and information they have put together for the RDE program are great examples of how in tune they are with their membership. This is an exciting opportunity for any shop.”

SCRS Chairman Aaron Clark said the organization couldn’t be more thrilled to have such enthusiastic support and involvement from a company like PPG.

“This year, RDE and the Collision Repair and Refinish section at the SEMA Show have just grown by leaps and bounds, and it is an honor to see the support we are receiving from the industry via their participation,” Clark said. “I know that the education and the evening event are both going to be huge successes that no one will want to miss, and both SCRS and PPG have a few additional special activities in discussion to make this year’s experience at the SEMA Show an even more compelling proposition for collision repairers. All I can say is keep your eyes out for more information, and make sure to register for the education classes early!”
