Washington Family to Receive Recycled Ride

Jan. 20, 2016

Jan. 20, 2016—CARSTAR Puget Sound Collision Centers will donate a 2008 Nissan Altima to a military family on Jan. 27 through the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program.

The recipient, Daniel H. DerHammer, was on active duty from January 1996 to November 1998. He served almost three years of a four-year enlistment before he was injured in a HMMWV accident and suffered a broken neck and back.

“Across the Puget Sound area, we have many of our customers and community members who are currently serving in the military or are veterans,” said Shaun Copeland, president of the CARSTAR Puget Sound Business Group and co-owner of five CARSTAR locations throughout the region. “We want to recognize their many contributions to our country’s freedom and security and thank them for their service with a special event in their honor.”

The giveaway will take place on Jan. 27 from 1:30-2 p.m. at the Real Family Center in Tacoma, Wash. on 17708 28th Ave. East.
