Feb. 13, 2015—Florida shop owner Ray Gunder has been selected to receive the 2015 Polk County (Fla.) Be More Award, according to ABC Action News Tampa Bay.
Gunder’s charity, the Polk County Auto Angels, helped disabled Vietnam veteran David Bradford by putting in over $4,000 worth of parts and repairs into his car, which Bradford needs in order to get to the hospital and undergo his kidney dialysis treatments.
The award is given out each year to a person who through a single act of kindness makes a tremendous impact on someone else's life.
Gunder, who also operates Gunder’s Auto Center in Lakeland, Fla., has made national news by bringing lawsuits against insurance companies that allegedly took advantage of small body shops like his own.
