New OEM parts use showed a decrease of 0.3 parts per repairable estimate in Q3 2014 from the same quarter in 2013, according to data culled from the Mitchell Estimating database. Alternate parts use remained stable, with a slight increase in the use of aftermarket parts. Mitchell says this trend suggests an increase in repairs and conventional bodywork taking place on the average vehicle estimate.
