New Models Added to Takata Recalls

Dec. 29, 2015—Four new models have been added to the Takata recall by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), according to a report by USA Today. The latest additions to the recall are Honda CR-Vs, Mazda6s, Subaru Legacy and Outback. The recall involves 23 million airbag inflators in 19 million cars from 11 automakers.

All four of the recalls involve passenger-side airbags. Subaru has not yet involved the 2006-2008 Legacy or Outback under its Takata recalls, but the CR-V and Madzda6 were already under other Takata recalls.

The following model years and models have been added to the recall list:

  • 2005–08 Mazda6
  • 2002–04 Honda CR-V
  • 2005–08 Subaru Legacy
  • 2005–08 Subaru Outback
