Aug. 14, 2015—On Thursday, the Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced that its Certified Automotive Tire Services (ATS) Advanced Instructor Training Course for women only, originally scheduled in Phoenix, will now be held in Denver.

The location change was made when the TIA became aware of the closing of the training facility in Phoenix. The new location will be Lincoln College of Technologies, a site that uses TIA for its commercial Tire Services (CTS) courses on a regular basis.

The original dates, Oct. 6-9, will remain the same. This will be the first time that TIA has held a training course specifically for female tire professionals.

The Certified ATS Instructor Program is a four-day, in-depth classroom and hands-on class that industry professionals must complete successfully in order to train technicians at the dealership to prepare them for certification.

Certified ATS includes safety guidelines and step-by-step procedures for all aspects of passenger and light truck tire service including wheel installation with the proper torque and tire repair. Also included is a full day of instruction on Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).
