Aug. 5, 2015—On Tuesday, Republican candidate John Mosley announced that he conceded to incumbent Mike Chaney in the primary election for Mississippi Commissioner of Insurance.
Mosley, owner of the two-location Clinton Auto Body in Mississippi, who spoke with FenderBender in January about his fight against insurance carriers on behalf of the collision industry, grew up in the auto body business. He opened Clinton Auto Body Shop in 1979 and has maintained two successful shops in the Jackson area. Mosley is a founding member of the Mississippi Collision Repair Association (MCRA) and currently serves as its president.
Mosley released the following statement via Facebook:
I want to thank everyone who supported me. We ran hard and tried to get the message out across the state. We fought more than just the other candidate, we fought at least one of the largest insurance companies in the country who showed how low they would go. I concede the race to Mr. Chaney and wish him the best. I hope some of the issues we have addressed will make a difference and help the people of Mississippi. If not, I will be back a much wiser candidate in 4 years.
Let’s all be positive and expect better for Mississippi because of this.
The general election for Mississippi Commissioner of Insurance will be held Nov. 3.
