Aug. 27, 2014—The Collision Repair Education Foundation announced Wednesday that it recently awarded nearly $30,000 in scholarships for collision repair students from around the country.
The scholarships, awarded by I–CAR organizations and PPG, are aimed at supporting technicians entering the collision field. The awards, and their respective recipients, were:
—The $1,000 2014 I–CAR Northeast Region collision student scholarship, which was made possible through the local I–CAR volunteer committee hosting fundraising events:
- Anatoliy Fesenko of Green River Community College in Auburn, Wash.
- Michaelangelo Vega-Ortiz of Bellingham Technical College in Bellingham, Wash.
—The Atlanta I–CAR Volunteer Committee’s $5,000 student scholarship, which was made possible through the committee hosting annual golf and car show fundraiser events:
Godofredo Pacheco of Maxwell High School of Technology in Lawrenceville, Ga.
—PPG Industries Foundation awarded 4 collision students with $5,000 scholarships through the Collision Repair Education Foundation:
- Elizabeth Mahsem of Madison College in Madison, Wis.
- Ian Zapata of College of Lake County in Grayslake, Ill.
- Rita Gonzales of Texas State Technical College of Harlingen, Tex.
- Seth Cushing of NCK Tech in Beloit, Kan.
