Chevrolet Offering Free Add-ons to Highlight Connectivity

April 25, 2016

April 25, 2016—Chevrolet has called the 2016 Cruze "the most connected car" in the compact segment and, in an effort to highlight the vehicle's connectivity, is including a number of free add-ons for vehicle owners, according to an Automotive News report.

Chevy is offering two years of free OnStar and SiriusXM satellite radio and 24 months or 24 gigabytes of 4G LTE data, in an effort to make sure target millennial buyers take notice of the connectivity features.

"The more people experience it, the more they'll really love it and stay with it," said Chris Biggs, executive director for Cruze global product marketing, according to Automotive News.

Bundling the data is a smart move to get owners hooked on a feature whose value it might take them a while to discover, said Mark Boyadjis, a senior analyst at IHS Automotive.

In addition to General Motors, Ford, Subaru, Audi and BMW offer similar 4G LTE connections.
