SCRS Open Board Meeting Set for April 8

April 1, 2014

April 1, 2014—The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) will hold an open board meeting from 3–5 p.m. on April 8 in Portland, Ore. The meeting will take place at the Red Lion Hotel and is open to all collision repairers.

The two hour meeting will include updates from SCRS staff, committees, and affiliate associations outlining current and future work initiatives each group has undertaken on behalf of the membership.

SCRS Education Committee member Gary Wano will provide a report on information gathered from the BMW National Aftersales Conference. The presentation will include an update on BMW's plans relative to the Certified Collision Repair Center program, insurer relationships, and insight into discussion surrounding repairability of the carbon fiber chassis, aluminum frame rails and thermo plastic outer panels on the i3 and i8 electric vehicles that will be entering the marketplace soon.

Barbara Crest, executive director of the Northwest Automotive Trades Association, and Janet Chaney, executive officer of the Oregon Collision Repair Specialists, will give updates on activities of both Oregon based affiliate associations of SCRS.

SCRS will also hold its annual elections following the open meeting at 5:15 p.m., and will have events throughout the morning on April 9, including its Repairer Roundtable from 8:30–11 a.m. and an awards lunch at 11:15 a.m.

No registration is necessary for the open meeting, but those planning to attend other events must RSVP to [email protected].
