April 4, 2014—Philadelphia-based Collision Care Auto Body Centers will replace all exterior lighting at its six locations with blue bulbs for the month of April, as part of the company’s “Light it up Blue” campaign to support the autism-awareness organization Louie’s Voice.
A number of Collision Care’s dealership and parts partners, as well as the famous Penrose Diner of Philadelphia, will also join in the cause.
Louie’s Voice, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit was founded by Lou Berman, Collision Care’s vice president of sales. Berman’s son, Louie Jr., has autism, and as a single father, Berman started the nonprofit in 2011 to help support other families that have gone through similar struggles as his own.
Autism research is currently the least funded of all pediatric afflictions, yet it affects more children than cancer, MS, MD, cystic fibrosis and leukemia combined. Current statistics show that one out of every 64 children tests within the autism spectrum.
With the help of Collision Care, the organization’s lead sponsor, Louie’s Voice has raised and given away thousands of dollars to local families.
