CCC launches website, app for repair status updates

May 18, 2012

May 18, 2012—CCC Information Services Inc. on Thursday launched its Carwise Solution, a website and mobile application that updates collision repair shop customers on repair statuses.

CCC said Carwise automatically delivers status updates and photos to customers from repair shops whenever key milestones are met during the repair process. CCC said its CCC ONE UpdatePlus platform delivers automatic status notifications through text messages and emails, and Carwise now allows for those notifications to also be delivered through a website, Carwise.com, and an iPhone app.

Industry research indicates that customer satisfaction increases significantly when customers are kept informed of the status of their repair through push updates, CCC said.

“Our research showed that consumers want transparency into the repair process, and choice in how they get that transparency,” said Pervinder Johar, chief technology officer for CCC. “Although email and text are currently popular choices, consumers are increasingly looking to interactive applications for more insight.”
