March 30, 2010—BASF has donated waterborne paint and equipment to Owens State Community College (OSCC) in Toledo, Ohio through the I CAR Education Foundation.
BASF donated its ONYX Waterborne Basecoat System to the school. The new equipment will enable the school to offer training in the latest repair paint technology.
“This donation will provide our students the opportunity to be trained with products and equipment that are the way of the future,” said Jeffrey Howard, OSCC assistant professor and program facilitator. “They will understand first hand the benefits that this new technology will provide to the refinish technician, the repair facility, and the environment.”
The donation will allow the students to use modern products and equipment without having to increase program fees, Howard added.
The I-CAR Education Foundation was able to match OSCC’s request for waterborne equipment through its 2009 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant application, according to the foundation.
