UTI Director to Retire

Dec. 13, 2012

Dec. 13, 2012—Universal Technical Institute Inc. (UTI), a national provider of training for automotive technicians, on Wednesday announced that Richard Caputo will retire from his position as director of the organization’s board of directors during the first quarter of 2013.

"It has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve as a director of UTI. My desire to focus on other business interests drove my decision to not seek re-election,” Caputo said. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the board and wish the company continued success in the future."

Caputo is the longest standing independent board member for UTI, having served on the organization’s board for 15 years since 1997. Caputo’s retirement will take effect when his current term expires Feb. 13.

"Rich has been a highly valued member of our board through many years of change and growth for the company," said Kimberly McWaters, CEO of UTI. "I am very appreciative for the guidance and direction he has provided to UTI. He will be missed and I wish him all the best."
