Sept. 21, 2011—The Coordinating Committee for Automotive Repair (CCAR) on Wednesday announced the addition of five collision repair facilities to the organization’s GreenLink Shop program.
The shops added to the program include:
• Carubba Collision in Buffalo, N.Y.
• Carubba Collision in Hamburg, N.Y.
• Carubba Collision in Tonawanda, N.Y.
• Carubba Collision in Wheatfield, N.Y.
• Jimmy Rivers Body Shop Inc. in Columbia, S.C.
All five shops are participants in the GEICO Auto Repair Xpress (ARX) program. CCAR said it has partnered with GEICO to promote the GreenLink Shop designation for GEICO’s ARX facilities across the United States.
“We are proud to recognize the newest recipients of the GreenLink Shop designation, bringing our total to 143 shops since the program’s introduction in January 2010,” said Daren Fristoe, president and chief operating officer of CCAR. “We are seeing more and more auto repair facilities incorporate environmental and safety stewardship in their business and marketing plans, and we look forward to greater levels of awareness in the coming months.”
The GreenLink Shop status, which promotes consumer confidence in local automotive repair facilities’ environmental and safety awareness and stewardship, is an extension of CCAR’s Environmental Compliance Assistance Center and S/P2 Safety and Pollution Prevention E-learning Program.
Repair facilities pursuing GreenLink Shop recognition must maintain high standards of excellence in environmental, health and safety (EHS) practices in four categories: business operations, employee training, safety compliance and environmental management. The program recognizes auto service facilities and collision repair shops with separate criteria established for each type of business, according to CCAR.
