Lincoln Electric Releases New Welding Helmet

Oct. 16, 2013—Lincoln Electric has released a new, lightweight helmet, the VIKING 1740 Series Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet, that was designed for affordability while still providing solid protection.

At 18.6 ounces, the helmet features solar power with battery assist, eliminating the need for an on/off switch. A shade control, ranging from 9-13, offers sensitivity adjustment for different welding environments and features adjustable delay time from dark to light settings.

The black helmet includes a two-year parts and labor warranty. It is also compatible with magnifying “cheater” lenses and hardhats. Extra cover lenses are also included (two for the inside and five for the outside).
