Boyd Group reopens acquired facility as a new Gerber Collision & Glass shop

June 28, 2010—The Boyd Group Inc. announced the opening of its newest collision shop in Evanstan, Ill.

The repair center, formally M&D Auto Body, was recently acquired by the Boyd Group and reopened under the company’s trade name, Gerber Collision & Glass.

“Out latest acquisition is consistent with our strategy of expanding into select markets and growing our network of repair centers across North America," said Tim O'Day, president and chief operating officer of U.S. operations for Boyd Group. "Our newest location in Evanston will complement our existing network in Illinois and, in particular, Cook County, the second most populous county in all of the U.S."

Gerber Collision & Glass now operates 23 shops in Illinois and a total of 55 shops throughout the country.
