Nov. 1, 2013—In partnership with the National Auto Body Council and Recycled Rices, LaMettry’s Collision announced that it will present a recycled van to a disabled veteran at 11:30 a.m. on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, at its Bloomington, Minn., facility.
The recipient, SSG Scott Adams, served in Afghanistan and Iraq through six deployments and received life-changing injuries after his humvee struck two anti-tank mines, trapping him inside the burning vehicle. Adams has had 38 surgeries to address a broken back and burn injuries to his skin and lungs.
Although Adams is disabled, he currently works full time for the Wounded Warrior Project in Minnesota, mentoring and helping other wounded veterans and traveling all over the country speaking on their behalf. His entire family, including his wife, three sons and a grandson, is currently sharing one car.
