Web-Est release_notess Auto Parts Connect program

March 30, 2010

March 30, 2010—Web-Est has launched Auto Parts Connect, a program designed to expand data feeds from auto collision parts providers.

The data will be integrated into Web-Est's online estimating platform used by more than 1,200 body shops nationwide.

Part providers can participate in Auto Parts Connect for free, but must provide data in an industry format and are responsible for submitting monthly or real-time updates, according to Web-Est, based in Oldsmar, Fla.

Auto Parts Connect Plus, an expanded version of the program, will launch at the end of the year. It will enable Web-Est users to programmatically place a parts order with qualified vendors. Qualifying vendors are required to provide discounts to Web-Est users and will pay an administrative transaction fee, according to Web-Est.

"Auto Parts Connect and Auto Parts Connect Plus are expected to create savings for parts vendors and Web-Est collision estimating software users alike," said Eric Seidel, Web-Est president and CEO. "Taking advantage of real-time ordering of parts eliminates manual steps; we expect to pass these savings on to our Web-Est customer base."
