The two grants were awarded to one secondary and one post-secondary school collision repair program. The secondary winner was Nichols Career Center based in Jefferson City, Mo., and the post-secondary winner was Manhattan Area Technical College based in Manhattan, Kan.

Over the next several months, the Education Foundation said it will work to fulfill the two schools’ $50,000 wish lists of tools, equipment and supplies needed for their collision repair programs.

“It was great bringing the collision industry together during our industry reception to not only highlight the support the organization has provided to collision school programs through the generosity of our industry donors, but also surprise both of these instructors that their collision programs will have their $50,000 wish lists fulfilled,” said Clark Plucinski, executive director of the Education Foundation. “Congratulations again to both Nichols Career Center and Manhattan Area Technical College.”

The Education Foundation said 70 schools throughout 31 U.S. states applied for this year’s grant. In addition to fulfilling the winning schools’ $50,000 wish lists, the Education Foundation said it will also attempt to support each of the other grant applicants. The organization will share the applicant schools’ wish lists with industry professionals and companies to help fulfill as many requested needs as possible.
