Jan. 26, 2010—The Collision Industry Foundation (CIF) has offered $10,000 in grants to support the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) 2010 Recycled Rides project.
The grants will be offered to shops that are donating vehicles to offset the costs associated with transferring vehicle titles from the donor to the recipient, according to CIF.
CIF will give donors $100 per car. The foundation’s grant will support titling fees of 100 cars, according to CIF.
“Repairers work very hard on these Recycled Rides vehicles so that the recipients have a reliable mode of transportation,” said Jeanne Silver, chairwoman of CIF. “We saw a gap in the title transferring process from the donor of the vehicle to the recipient, and felt this was a great way for the CIF to step in and fill this need.”
Repairers participating in the Recycled Rides project can access the grant information from the NABC administrative office.
