Titanium 20 group donates $3,000 to DEG

March 18, 2011

March 18, 2011, SECAUCUS, N.J.—Akzo Nobel’s Titanium 20 Group, a group of 10 shop owners within the Akzo Nobel Acoat Selected Performance Groups program, donated $3,000 to the Database Enhancement Gateway (DEG), said Aaron Clark, president of Collision Solutions, during the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) board meeting Friday.

The money will be used for three purposes:

• $1,000 will be given to the March Taylor Education Foundation.

• $1,000 will be used for the DEG’s operating budget.

• $1,000 will be distributed as prize money among the top three submitters of inquiries to the DEG.

“This is an initiative that the Titanium group started in an attempt to get other trade associations and groups to follow suit,” said Clark, who is also chairman of the SCRS. “We need to raise more funds for the DEG.”

This donation is extremely valuable to the DEG, said Aaron Schulenburg, executive director of SCRS. Efforts like this help encourage others to find unique and creative ways to promote the use of the DEG. The whole goal is to get people to utilize the organization more frequently.

“This donation highlights the leadership within the industry among companies and shop owners who are willing to put their own money and resources toward a good use to inspire others and improve the industry,” Schulenburg said.
