Four Students Receive GEICO Scholarships, Tool Grants

May 3, 2013—The Collision Repair Education Foundation and GEICO Philanthropic Foundation on Friday announced the winners of GEICO’s national Scholarship and Tool Grant competition.

The GEICO Scholarship and Tool Grant program will provide selected collision repair students with $1,000 school scholarships and $1,000 tool grants.

The student winners of the 2013 GEICO Scholarship and Tool Grant include the following:

- Kyle Wright of Chantilly STEM Academy in Chantilly, Va.
- Olivia Barszczewski of Alfred State in Alfred, N.Y.
- Shannon Braswell of Sarasota County Technical Institute in Sarasota, Fla.
- Gerardo Olivera of Cerritos College in Norwalk, Calif.

“GEICO Philanthropic is honored to support such a worthy cause,” said Bill DeGrocco, assistant vice president of GEICO. “We understand how important it is to develop the appropriate skills to receive such a technical degree. The students at these schools show great potential and we’re happy to support them.”
