CARSTAR integrates proprietary management system with Mitchell

March 28, 2012

March 28, 2012—CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts on Tuesday announced it has developed a proprietary shop management system that integrates the company’s technology solutions with Mitchell RepairCenter Shop Workspace to deliver additional tools for CARSTAR shops.

The technology platform, called the CARSTAR Solution, is an integrated management system meant to provide operational efficiency, financial management and data-driven analytics to improve the performance of CARSTAR shops. The CARSTAR Solution will also provide shops with information required to develop strategic industry partnerships to become more competitive. Key elements of the technology include the following:

• Integrated applications to eliminate dual entry within separate systems
• Automatic capturing of data through integration with RepairCenter
• A data warehouse to drive defensible key performance metrics and enable rapid and accurate reporting of operational metrics

"Mitchell is delighted to deepen our long-standing relationship with CARSTAR and to help CARSTAR build a great workspace based on Mitchell RepairCenter and CARSTAR's unique store management solution,” said Jim O'Leary, vice president of repair solutions for Mitchell. “As the solution is rolled out to the stores, it's very rewarding to partner with them to deliver a cutting-edge business management system to help them meet their strategic business objectives.”

CARSTAR said more than 80 of its stores have implemented the CARSTAR Solution. The company expects to have the technology running in each of its U.S. locations by year-end 2012.

"We are always looking at the tools, resources and support we can provide our independent storeowners to help them build and manage their businesses," said David Byers, CEO of CARSTAR. “The CARSTAR Solution is a great example of collaborative development with our partner Mitchell and select store owners to create a powerful technology platform that will benefit the entire organization."

CARSTAR currently operates nearly 400 collision repair facilities throughout 31 U.S. states and 10 Canadian provinces. For more information, visit carstar.com.
