Nov. 12, 2012—The aftermath of super storm Hurricane Sandy has left many of the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey’s (AASP/NJ) member shops in states of shock and devastation, the organization said in a press release.
AASP/NJ said the storm, the largest to ever strike New Jersey, has affected almost every business in the state. The extent of long-term damage is yet to be determined.
“This is, by far, the worst storm we’ve ever seen here,” said Jeff McDowell, president of AASP/NJ. “In our shops and in our homes, it’s beyond description.”
AASP/NJ encourages its member shops affected by the storm to contact the following organizations for assistance recovering and rebuilding after the disaster:
• FEMA
• The Hurricane Sandy Information Center
• American Red Cross
“I really can’t find the words, but we are resilient,” said Charles Bryant, executive director of AASP/NJ. “We will get through this and we will rebuild. We like to say we’re ‘Jersey strong,’ and this will be the ultimate test.”
AASP/NJ said people who want to provide financial assistance to individuals affected by Hurricane Sandy can send donations to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.
