Jan. 12, 2011 — LINE-X Protective Coatings was tapped to support an eco auto tour aimed at boosting awareness of renewable fuels, materials and the preservation of natural resources.
During the event, called Best of America, a specially designed Ford F250, outfitted with U.S.-made products and powered by cellulose ethanol, will travel for two months to historic sites throughout the U.S. The EcoTrek Foundation, a nonprofit focused on advancing renewable resources, organized the event, which started Jan. 11.
“We’re taking a regular American-made pickup truck, outfitting it with American-made products, like LINE-X, and powering it with American-made bio-fuels in order to emphasize our ability to be gentler to the environment, while bolstering America’s economy, national security and independence from foreign oil,” said Tom Holm, founder of EcoTrek.
LINE-X, which specializes in high-performance protective coatings, sprayed the truck bed and wheel wells with its products.
"We are an American company built from the passion of the American entrepreneurial spirit and the opportunity to support the EcoTrek Foundation as they set out to give back to our great nation through education and awareness is very rewarding,” said Kevin Heronimus, LINE-X CEO.
