Jan. 14, 2011, PALM SPRINGS, CALIF. — The format for the Collision Industry Conference's fall meeting will change to two consecutive mornings, rather than one full day.
The change, which will take place at the CIC's meeting in Las Vegas in November, is intended to allow participants to spend more time at the SEMA automotive trade show, which happens at the same time as the meeting.
"I honestly believe this will make it much better for the attendees because they'll have their afternoons free to do what they need to do, like be an exhibitor," said Jeff Hendler, administrator for the CIC.
According to the new schedule, the CIC meeting will take place on the mornings of Wednesday, Nov. 2 and Thursday, Nov. 3 at the Las Vegas Hilton, which is across the street from the convention center where SEMA is located. The Collision Industry Awards Luncheon will be held after the Wednesday session, and the CIC reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The new times were finalized after CIC participants voted Thursday to hold their fall meeting at during SEMA rather than during the NACE Expo in Orlando Fla. in October.
CIC also release_notesd the locations for some of its future meetings, which are held quarterly in different areas of the country.

Many industry associations, such as the National Auto Body Council, the Society of Collision Repair Specialists, I-CAR and the Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association, typically hold their quarterly meetings during the same week in the same location as CIC so industry stakeholders can go to several meetings on one trip.
