Oct. 28, 2013—The Montana Collision Repair Specialists (MCRS) joined the list of collision repair associations condemning third-party mandates on collision repair businesses with the release of a position statement on Friday.
The announcement supports the statement made by the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) on Sept. 8, officially opposing such programs.
“MCRS does not believe these programs enhance the interest of the consumer or the small businesses serving them,” the MCRS said in its statement. “We support free enterprise, and believe in the benefit of business relationships that have been built on trust and an understanding of the specific market needs placed on collision repair businesses.”
MCRS believes the repair process is best left to the professionals repairing the vehicle without third-party intrusion that hinders a business’s ability to safely, efficiently and profitably serve the consumer.
