Nov. 5, 2013—CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts announced Monday it will partner with a number of industry organizations for a series of events throughout November for National Military Month.
CARSTAR has created national partnerships with local Veterans organizations, Fisher House, NABC Operation Comfort, iPods for Wounded Veterans and a number of other military groups.
Throughout the month, CARSTAR locations will collect donations of needed items, help raise funds and hold events to honor the service of America’s military members.
Other events include:
- Wicklund’s CARSTAR in Liberty, Mo., is holding its annual military appreciation celebration on Nov. 5 to honor local veterans and active duty military members.
- CARSTAR’s Puget Sound business group, comprised of 21 CARSTAR locations, will restore a 2002 Ford Windstar van to be given away on Nov. 11 to a military family through the VA hospital. In addition, it will conduct a drawing for military families throughout November.
- Marshall’s Autobody CARSTAR in Billerica, Mass., owned by Jim Marshall, an Air Force veteran, will again support iPods for Wounded Veterans by collecting donations to purchase iPods, iPads, Kindles, Nooks and other electronics for military members recovering from injuries at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
“People want to help, they just need the avenue and direction,” said Marshall. “The gift of an iPod, iPad, Nook or Kindle, or even magazines and books, provides much needed distraction from the grueling rehabilitation processes these soldiers face. It’s been an honor to work with this program over the past year and help these soldiers in need.”
